To give the building a more rugged and "out-door look," large fieldstones, a tongue and groove pine ceiling, and whole wood timbers were used throughout the store. The 20-foot-high ceiling is supported by 23 cast-in-place concrete columns that are covered in fieldstone. Approximately 2,000 cubic yards of concrete were used for the 120,000 square foot interior slab-on-grade; 500 cubic yards of lightweight topping were used to cover the 30,000 square foot mezzanine; and 4,500 cubic yards of concrete were used for the exterior sidewalks and paving. |
